Hats are not allowed to be worn on this tour. Please wear closed-toed shoes. A jacket or warmer clothing is recommended.

Cameras should have a sort of strap to help secure them.

You will be required to wear a mask at all times.

You will need to present a photo ID at check-in and weighed to confirm your weight.

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel this tour for no charge at least 72 hours prior to your start time.

There is no charge if you change your tour dates or times before you request a change at least three days before your tour day.

There are no refunds for cancellations within that time period.

No, this tour runs as long as the weather allows for the safe flying of the helicopter. The pilot may alter routes slightly, allowing for a full flight time experience.
Can We Get A Specific Seat?

You can add-on during checkout exactly the type of seat you want. To be guaranteed a window or a “co-pilot” seat, you will need to choose the extra fee during the booking process. Otherwise, itʻs a first-come, first-serve policy.
How Many Seats Are In The Helicopter?

There are six seats in the helicopter, so if you wanted to make this a private tour, you would have to purchase all seats for your group. We will mix groups to fill capacity.
Will We Have To Wear A Mask During The Tour?

You will be required to wear a mask at all times. There is no way to practice social distancing in the helicopter, so be aware of that.

Why Do You Ask For Guest Weights?

The aircraft is designed to transport guests and carry enough fuel based upon the entire load's weight. For guests who weigh from 265 lbs. up to 300 lbs., there is a $100 extra fee. For guests over 300 lbs, there is a $250 charge.
How Long Does The Tour Last?

From Kona, this is a full day tour lasting about 12 hours with a 10:00-11:00 AM pick-up time. From Hilo, the tour lasts 6 hours with a pick-up time of 1:30 PM.

How Long Is The Helicopter Flight?

The helicopter flight will range between 45 to 55 minutes in length. During this time you will fly from the Hilo airport, along the side of Mauna Loa, over rainforests, rural areas, farms, and waterfalls, until you reach the edges of Volcanoes National Park. At that point, you begin to see features like smoking craters, long cracks in the ground, historic lava flows, and miles of untouched native rainforest. After circling the craters in the park, the tour makes its way back to the coastline. The route will change based on what is good to see that day. Your pilot will know best.
